Plans

Here is an adorable picture of the girls on their first day of school. They are getting so big. Seventh and fourth grades.

I picked up the plans. We are so excited. We really like the looks of the plan. Now the big question is can we afford it. What do you think?

Here is the front view. Dad had me pick up shingle and siding samples. I think we have Clay for siding and Rustic Slate for shingles. Hey that wasn't so bad!! Of course, this is just the beginning. I'm still reading the book we bought - Home Building for Dummies.

Tomorrow night we are getting together w/ Dad to discuss money. How much does he think this is going cost?

Lot Bought

Steve and I are building a house. We looked and looked for a new home for years. (Maybe not intensely though.) I like the convenience of living in Peoria: 9 minutes to work, close to the girl's schools, so I can run up there during the day if the need arises, and close to shopping restaurants, etc. We are getting very claustrophobic in the home we have been in for 17 years.

In July, Steve found a lot for sale by owner on Isabell. Put in an offer and we closed on Aug. 15th. So Steve has 2 yards to take care of now. My dad works for LS Lumber and will be helping us build. We currently have a house plan being drawn up at LS. I'm picking up prints today. We are getting excited. A little worried about all the decisions to be made. I'm going to my dad's on Friday to discuss the plans. Then we need to talk to the Contractor, then the Bank!!
